Studio Major Assignment

THE BRIEF

Corporate Portrait
Brief: To produce 2 Corporate Portraits (head and shoulders & ¾ length) both of the same person. This is a portrait for a partner of a law/accounting firm and the images will potentially be used on their website  and firm advertisement/publications.

The hair light is nice in this one. But it could have used with a bit more rim light to separate the model from the background. But I like the model’s stance.

Not sure I that the top of her head is cut out and the background is a bit old style (reminds me of primary school photo day… arrgghhhh)

I really like these two positions for this model. The rim and hair lighting is great. Would like to try these two stances.

I like this head/shoulder shot because the top of her head has not been cropped or left out. The lighting is good also.

I like this particular position that the model is in, but don’t really like the lighting. Maybe some more fill light on the hair and maybe a soft box on the other side of the face.

Group Portrait
Brief – To produce one group portrait.

For my group portrait I would like to use my two children and show just how much a big brother can love his baby sister.
I was thinking of using astro grass for the children to sit on and have either a crisp white background or use a blue gel to make a light blue background. I would like for the children to be playing with bubbles and having fun or sitting together having a picnic and eating sandwiches. But what I can see happening is that my 6 year old son will just lie on the floor and will let his 1 year old sister climb and crawl all over him, which will be just as funny.
I’m thinking that I will have to have the lights down at their lowest point, because this shoot will be done on the floor.
Below are some inspirational images.

Creative Editorial Portrait
Brief - Good Weekend magazine has commissioned you to produce one creative portrait for the cover of their next issue.
For this portrait I am going to be exploring the world of golf. The story surrounding an Australian golf player who is number one in the world.
